What is Ek Anokhi Dulhan Saavi about?

Ek Anokhi Dulhan Saavi is a story of a young woman named Saavi (Jaspinder Cheema), who belongs to a community of Gaddis (shepherds) in Himachal Pradesh. The Gaddis and some laborer families follow the Batta-Satta system of marriage in which the bride's brother has to marry the groom's sister or vice versa. This system is meant to ensure that both families get equal dowry and respect.

Saavi is married to Jaggi (Jeet Soni), who is mentally challenged due to an accident in his childhood. As per the Batta-Satta system, Saavi's brother has to marry Jaggi's sister. However, Jaggi's sister elopes with her lover on the day of her wedding. This creates a huge problem for Saavi's family as they are now dishonored and indebted to Jaggi's family.
